From the makers of our Organic T-shirts:
By purchasing our Organic shirts, you are not only allowing farmers to sustain themselves through the transition to Organic, but also encouraging other farmers to the same. We are committed to supporting America Organic Cotton Farmers, who are among the most important caretakers of our country's natural resources. This could be the most important purchase you ever make. Important for us...but even more so for our children.
Over 14 years ago, long before it was fashionable, we starting using organic cotton tees. We found then that people were not ready to pay extra for organic apparel. Eco-friendly was not yet a part of the collective consciousness. Today the world is much more concerned with our environment and people are willing to spend a little more in the name of sustainability.
This year we introduce a line of tees that are dyed and printed on Organic cotton. These shirts are more expensive not only because they are organic by industry standard, but because they are truly organic. Let us explain.....
It is not public knowledge, but under current law, companies can label their shirts as "organic" so long as a small percentage of the cotton used has been organically grown. Many of these so-called organic tees contain less than 10% organic cotton. The majority of the tees in this new line are being printed on 100% organic cotton. This means that every inch of these shirts are made from organically grown cotton. Every inch......
Even more exciting is the "Transitional Cotton". We're using this for a portion of our line. We've been fortunate enough to have found a source of cotton grown in the U.S.A. by Transitional Farmers. Although not enough is available at this pint to use only this cotton for our Organic line, we will be using all we can get our hands on. Transitional Farmers are those that are converting from conventional growing methods to organic growing methods. It can take more than three years to heal the land and for that land to become "certified" organic. By supporting these farmers through this transition, we're helping to turn our already existing farmland into the sustainable organic land so important to our future....and to that of future generations. Let's face it; there's only so much land available for farming. Every year, this land becomes more and more precious as we continue to experience the challenges of housing an ever expanding population. We feel strongly that we must work towards transitioning our existing farmland, rather than simply seeking out and creating new organic farms. Without this transition, there will never be a significant number of organic farms operating, and therefore the problem will remain and continue to get worse every year. There just isn't enough land available to make a viable impact on the farming industry unless we take these steps and help our farmers change."

We have only one earth ... which needs to be used wisely.
Together we can make a difference to the future .... and the future of our children.
